Kentucky musician Sturgill Simpson has announced a new album and tour, however, the name on the top of your ticket might be a little different. After 7 albums, he will now be listed on marquees everywhere as “Johnny Blue Skies.”

This new eight-track album, “Passage du Desir,” out July 12th, was recorded under his own independent label, High Top Mountain Records. It will be the first Johnny Blue Skies album officially, although he did use the moniker when he recorded “Use Me (Brutal Hearts)” with Diplo and Dove Cameron.

The “Why Not? Tour” kicks things off on August 11th in San Francisco, with Pre-Sale starting Wednesday, June 12th.
