In the two weeks we've been doing the Local Music Showdown nobody has made it past the third night, until tonight. Chance Anderson was able to take yet another win this time against Audra and the Whippoorwills. Audra's song was so cool and brought a plethora of votes. The battle was neck and neck but Chance would prove the victor and go against The Hamiltons tomorrow night!
Chance Anderson returned tonight after taking the win against Jessi England last night. He returned tonight to take on a new cat in the FW/D, Alex Bellin. Alex had an amazing song but Chance would reign victorious yet again. Tomorrow we will introduce Audra and the Whippoorwills.
What a night! Tonight we hit the highest number of votes ever recorded for the Local Music Showdown.. even though it's only been going for a week and a half. Jessi England returned tonight to take on Chance Anderson. The battle was fierce, it was close and it was stressful for both I'm sure. In the end, Chance Anderson took the win. He will return tomorrow night and take on Alex Bellin!
Tonight the Brad Russell Band returned for their second round against newcomer Jessi England. Initially Brad's fans came out in full force then Jessi's crew bombarded the text and call feature with a plethora of votes. At the end of the day, Jessi England will move on to the next round against Chance Anderson.
There seems to be a pattern this first week of the Local Music Showdown. Southern Brave was the first to take a win and were eliminated on their third night. Reid Farris was eliminated on his third night. Carrying us over to Monday the Brad Russell Band took W for your Friday. Will they have what it takes going against Jessi England on Monday? Reid Farris returned tonight after scoring a victory against Southern Brave last night. A new outfit reached out last week with a sound more on the rockin’ side of TX/Red Dirt music and an attention grabbing name to boot, This Is Murder Country. The phone lines went crazy once voting opened up but the win went to Reid Farris. Be sure to check out This Is Murder Country at a venue near you soon. Tonight Southern Brave returned for their third night in a row in hopes of making the full five and into the Hall of Fame. It was a hard fought battle between the two but with just three votes deciding the victor, Reid Farris. Tomorrow we will welcome JR & the Bootleggers to the party!
On tonight’s edition of the Local Music Showdown Southern Brave returns with First November after pulling off the win last night. Newcomer Andrew Holmes steps up with a really cool new tune called Boatman. I really dig Andrew’s sound and style but Southern brave took it again tonight. Tonight we launched a new segment called the Local Music Showdown. It’s simple, local artists submit their music, I play two on the air each night at 9:10, the winner goes on to the next night. After winning five times in a row they’ll be inducted to the Hall of Fame! It’s all brought to you by Outdoor Powersports. Tonight’s contestants were the Highway Sisters and Southern Brave.
