But did you know Colgate once made candles, soaps, coffee-based Coca-Cola Blãk to Ayds (pronounced “aids”), a diet candy and beef lasagna? Well, it is in the halls of The Museum of failure! Colgate wanted to enter the frozen ready meal market using the brand loyalty it had. The brand hoped to entice people into eating their pre made frozen meals and then brushing their teeth with Colgate toothpaste. The company even tried to get into the food market in the 60s.
