Get Lost In The Music

One thing almost everyone has been guilty of is when there favorite song comes on during a show the phone comes out and a sea of phone screens light up a dark room.  Because if you don’t post about it, then you weren’t there right?

I have been guilty of this many many times, I sit here now scrolling through my phone looking back at videos that I haven’t watched in 3-5 years that just take up space.  Why can’t we just live in the moment and soak up the music and the memories with those we love jamming to music that got us through some good times.. and bad ones.

Just over a year ago we were fighting to have concerts back and now that they have been going strong for a year we are right back to posting all about it and having our phones look at small screens instead of singing our favorite songs to the top of our lungs with friends and family doing the same just smiling and laughing when someone screws up the words or spills a drink.

I struggle with living in the moment sometimes when it comes to this because I am constantly thinking about work.  Maybe that is our problem as a society.  We are constantly looking ahead and missing what is right in front of us – LIFE.

This isn’t just at concerts, it is in every aspect of our daily lives.  We just get so busy and ingrained in the tiny device in our pockets that every vibration or ping we immediately go check it and see what is going on instead of fully engaging in the real life going on around us.  We often get told ‘blink and your life will pass you by’  I feel like that is where we all are right now.  Blink and we missed out on a memory with a group of friends because we are too busy trying to video something we will never watch again or trying to post it right then and there for the world instead of creating the moments that will actually stay with us forever.

Go to your favorite show with your people. Get lost in the music. Make the memories that will last a lifetime.  Trust me, you will think me later when you are laughing at brunch with your friends the next morning.

Lets all get lost in the music together,
