Martin Truex Jr. reaffirming Sunday that he is the favorite to win the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series title. Truex overcame a restart penalty and an unscheduled pit stop to post his seventh win of the year and third in the playoffs at Kansas Speedway. He now has 69 playoff bonus points, giving him a 27 point lead starting the Round of Eight. Kurt Busch finished second, Ryan Blaney third, Chase Elliott fourth, and Denny Hamlin fifth. Kyle Busch led a race-high 112 laps but settled for a tenth place run, good enough to advance.
