How Ranch Listeners Can Help Victims of Harvey

red-cross-texas-2

With the magnitude of this disaster, all of us in North Texas feel compelled to help out our fellow Texans so severely impacted by Hurricane Harvey and the torrential rainfall that’s devastated South Texas. Here are a few ways to help.

By donating money to the Red Cross, Salvation Army, and Catholic Charities. These organizations already have an infrastructure in place to react and provide aid after this kind of disaster. They also will all allow you to donate specifically to their Hurricane Relief Fund. Coordinating efforts to collect and distribute specific necessary items can be a real challenge, you’ve probably seen footage of warehouses full of relief items that were never used, so monetary donations to one of these organizations would likely be the most helpful. If you’re interested in donating your time, all of these organizations need volunteers as well.

The American Red Cross: redcross.org, call 800-REDCROSS, or text “HARVEY” to 90999 to make a $10 donation

The Salvation Army: helpsalvationarmy.org, 800-SAL-ARMY, or text “STORM” to 51555

Catholic Charities USA: catholiccharitiesusa.org Hurricane Harvey Responsele food items.
